Cortona in Bloom Competition

Here is the second edition of the “Cortona in Bloom Competition”: from April 1 to April 28, you can submit photos of floral arrangements created for homes and businesses in the historic center. The initiative is promoted by the Municipal Administration in collaboration with Confesercenti, Proloco Centro Storico, Consiglio dei Terzieri, and Radio Incontri.

The competition, designed to make the city of Cortona even more beautiful, is open to residents, non-resident property owners, commercial operators, associations, and groups created specifically for the occasion. Participants must decorate balconies, window sills, loggias, shop windows, entrances, public spaces, or any street frontage of any kind and size. The properties or spaces featuring the arrangements must be visible from the public street and located within Cortona’s historic center.

Until April 28, 2026, photos can be sent via WhatsApp to the Proloco Centro Storico at +39 338 700 9352 or by email to the Municipality at info@comune.cortona.ar.it. The message must include 3 to 5 images of the floral decoration along with the contact person’s full name, phone number, and the location address, specifying whether real or artificial flowers are used.
The competition will also feature installations in the historic center created by the “Luca Signorelli” Higher Education Institute, the IPSS branches of the “Angelo Vegni” Institute, and the “Girolamo Mancini” primary school of the Cortona 1 Comprehensive Institute.

Based on the applications received, the jury will schedule site visits to determine the final rankings. The jury, composed of experts from plant and flower nursery companies, will meet at the end of April to decide the winners of the two categories: “Real Flowers” and “Artificial Flowers.”

The award ceremony will take place on May 1st during the “Cortona in Bloom” event. The prizes are sponsored by companies in the decorative ceramics sector.
